Basic Scone Recipe (with variations)

INGREDIENTS:

450g Self-Raising Flour
55g Butter
1 Level Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cups Milk

Cheese Scones

INGREDIENTS:

8 Tablespoons Self Raising Flour
100g Grated Cheese
1 Teaspoon Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Mustard
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Dessertspoon Butter
3/4 Cup Milk

METHOD:
Rub butter into dry ingredients. Then rub in cheese. Moisten with a beaten egg and milk. Bake 15 minutes in a moderate oven.
